Love this song! A big thanks to my buddy, Said, for introducing me to the music of Cheb Khaled. Yes, this is an oldie but it’s a goodie!

It’s, “Aicha, listen to me”
Are you correcting the “Aicha vs. Aisha” bit or the use of “woman listen to me” vs “aicha listening to me”?! The reason I wrote “woman” as a translation is because Aisha/Aicha comes from Hebrew (first used in Genesis for Eve) and means “woman”, being the female form of “man” or “adam” by adding an “a” to “Aich” (man).
yeah it is Aicha, listen to me.
Friends of mine named their daughter Aicha, inspired by this song.
Hi, Sythe. That’s cool that your friends named their daughter after this song. Wow! And I thought I liked the song!!!
old is epic, good post!!
Thanks! Nothing beats the oldies, huh?!
The song was actually written for Khaled by the French songwriter, Jean-Jacques Goldman and was a huge hit in France in 1996. Khaled later added a Arabic verse.
Thanks for the additional info. Love the lyrics!
I have always loved this song. Thanks for reminding me
Hi, Nadia. The song not only sounds great, but the lyrics (if you know French) are great as well. I hope you’re doing well in Salalah!
Brought back lovely memories..
though I could’nt understand the words, I loved the passion with which he sang the song.. Thanks for this lovely reminder !
Deepti,
just type in “Aicha English lyrics” in youtube and you’ll easily find a video with the lyrics printed out. FANTASTIC lyrics! And like you said, passionate singing helps as well!
