If you love Chinese food but don’t want to spend a whole lot of money, Szechwan Wok in Muscat Grand Mall might be just the place for you! Be warned that a lot of the dishes are quite spicy though. Szechwan cuisine is named after the “Sichuan province” in China which is known for bold flavors and spiciness from liberal use of garlic and chili peppers.
Seating is simple but comfortable in the food court of Muscat Grand Mall.
Vegetable Spring Rolls – 1.9 OR
Mixed Fried Rice – 2.8 OR
Anyone reading this try “Szechwan Wok” in the Muscat Grand Mall? If so, how was your experience?

I haven’t tried it, but I sure will have to! Those spring rolls look yummy!
I just hope you like spicy food, Cathy! Yes, I thought the spring rolls were pretty good! My wife, on the other hand, (who can be a little pickier when it comes to food) thought they were “just okay”. She thinks the springrolls at the cheap Chinese take-away/dine-in in Bareeq al Shatti (called “ChowLane”- also reviewed on this blog) are way better (and less the cost at 1 OR when we visited).
Muscat Grand Mall? Did I miss this place while I was there?!?
Hi, Char! GREAT to see a comment from you! We really miss you here. The Muscat Grand Mall was still being built when you left and only had “a soft opening” on March 1st. There are only a handful of stores open (70 now I think) which are mostly coffeeshops or small restaurants in the foodcourt as well as the small movietheatre which just recently opened up. You can always come back to see it for yourself. We’d love to see you!
Hello Andy,
Thank you for your glowing review. Was the manager of the restaurant when you must have passed by. Actually, am right there in the picture that you took of our counter.
Saqib,
My pleasure! Just trying to keep people informed about the many eating options here in Oman.
I love food posts, new food and finding old favorites is a part of the adventure! Your pictures are great, too, well done!

ML,
Thanks! I love your blog, especially the posts about you and your son. My son also loves Hot Wheels! I lived in South Korea for almost 10 years so it’s nice to read up on your adventures there! The post “Turtle Power Loose in the Park” was a great read! (http://plantingpennies.wordpress.com/2013/01/13/turtle-power-loose-in-the-park/) Thanks for stopping by and living a positive comment. Blessings to you and your family!
