  1. goodness me…this is some serious business eh? I didn’t realize that..thanks for sharing Andy

  2. Wow!! Just got word about this today from one of my State Dept. friends. Hmmm…..

  3. I guess we’ll have to be good from now on :)

    • Haha! That we will, Maurizio! That we will! :-) But scary to think what the consequences are if someone (or a group of people?!) think that something we’ve written about is “somehow unacceptable”…

  4. yeah it was in the paper last week as well.

    • You are more informed than I am (as usual), Mr. Sythe! I’m surprised you didn’t mention it on your blog. Cheers!

  5. Wow, I understand that we should always be aware of what we say, but MAN! One year in jail?

    • “WOW” is right! If everyone who wrote trash about others on facebook went to prison for a year, they would have to build a LOT more prisons around the world. Bloggers can be sent to prison for up to 3 years they are saying and fined up to 1,000 rials or $2,600 US!

  6. By the way, I nominated you for a blog award. Thank you for being such a blessing and encouragement to me, since I’ve been here. :D

  9. Yeah, Nadia from Dhofari Gucci, and Muscat Confidential wrote about this when it was first drafted. And the Dragon kindly warned me about a post on striking teachers and abusive ROP;) . Since our blog has more than one contributer, I guess just our editor could be held accountable unless she wanted to name names. Alas… I guess I can’t do the informative post on the sacked Minister’s house that has mysteriously stopped construction since he was investigated for stealing from the gov. huh? He could get someone thrown in jail just for that:(. and it was such a pretty post too! So now our blog is ALOT more boring and girly alas.

    • Princess,
Your blog is far from boring! You have to give credit to “your editor” for the wisdom in not running certain pieces. The last thing we want is for you or one of the other writers of your blog to write something that will land you in prison! :-)
